My Songs of the Week!

In past weeks, all of my songs of the weeks have been very upbeat/pop anthems, but this week I'm going in quite the different route! I'm currently obsessed with two songs that are more on the country/folk side, and I hope you too become obsessed with them!

1. "Gone, Gone, Gone" by Phillip Phillips
This is such a departure from the music that I normally listen to! In recent months, I've heard this song a lot especially since it was played on EVERY episode of American Idol this past season. However, I never actually "listened" to it. For some reason in the past two days, I began thinking about the song and singing the only few words that I know in my head. I don't know why this happens to me, but with a lot of songs, I'll hear them and then at random points in time (weeks later), I'll fall in love with them. Anyway, this song has such a good vibe to it and it really just puts me in a great mood. The lyrics, which talk about loving someone even after they're "gone" are really heartfelt and sweet, and it's just a really cute song. It's definitely a good car song, where you roll down the windows, let the wind blow through your hair, and watch the sun set.

2. "Counting Stars" by One Republic
I've always loved One Republic ever since their first single "Apologize." For some reason, all of their music is just such feel-good music and their song "Counting Stars," off of their latest album "Native," is no exception. It's such a great song, and I love everything about it, from the slow intro to the upbeat chorus. Also, whatever instrument that is used during the chorus, I don't even know how to describe it, sort of makes the song for me!

Hope you guys enjoy these two songs as much as I do! See ya next week!
